Chair Hugh Smith and the Conservancy Board continue to track projects in Southport, including but not limited to: - the Villlage Park initiative by Sasquanaug; - the Harbor Management Commission's application to the CT DEP for certain improvements to the Lower Wharf; - the plan to construct a Cafe in the Southport Train Station; - and continued development in Southport by monitoring applications to Planning and Zoning as well as the Historic District Commission.

In addition, a detailed program for outreach and continued preservation efforts is underway by the Conservancy Board and Executive Committee.

PUBLICATION OF THE PACKET II - 1997-2011. The second hardbound issue of the Southport Packet is well underway, with a new fabulous cover design by Sarah Biggers. Look for the book to be offered for sale soon. This is a must-have for every Southport home, and for anyone with an interest and appreciation for local history. It is truly a treaure trove.
